my values have changed
my ideals have grown
my heros remain
my friendships have deepened
my peers have grown up
my lifelong friend stayed the same
i'm different, and you don't recognize
and celebrate me, don't acknowledge the differences
you're the same, childish and petulant
stubborn and shy, and private, alone by choice
but lonely all the same
